Members of KMHA’s team have been trained to be cofacilitators for the following workshops:

FREE Workshop

ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

This is a two-day FREE workshop offered to ALL community members designed to eqip participants to respond knowledgably and competently to persons at risk of suicide. This was a workshop provided in conjunction with KPAA and The Kaua’i Resilience Project. Our last training was in December 2020.

FREE suicide prevention workshop

Youth Mental Health First Aid

This FREE suicide prevention workshop for adults is offered to all parents, educators, mentors, and community members dealing with youths in their professional or personal lives. This was a workshop provided in conjunction with KPAA, Kupa’a Kaua’i, Hale ‘Opio Kaua’i, and The Kaua’i Resilience Project. Our last training was in October 2020.

Training-for-Trainers

Anti-Bullying & Suicide Prevention Training (youth)

This workshop allows participants to be introduced to and unpack the Youth Suicide &Bullying Prevention (YSBP) curriculum, explore recommended best practices for working with youth in bullying and suicide prevention, and practice facilitating the YSBP training. Participants who complete the Training-for-Trainers (T4T) Workshop are then certified YSBP. Trainers who are qualified to deliver trainings to youth in their communities with the necessary training materials.
